JOB BOARDS

DON’T WORK

The right person for your open role is probably not on Indeed.

And that's not a criticism of your posting. It's just the truth about how the nonprofit talent market actually works.

The candidates who could genuinely move your mission forward — the ones with the exact background, the sector fluency, and the leadership maturity your role requires — are already doing excellent work somewhere else. They're not refreshing job boards. They're not uploading resumes. They don't know you're looking.

That’s where we come in.

Specialized roles require specialized sourcing.

There's a reason a general job posting falls flat when the role is anything but general. Consider:

  • A botanical garden needed a horticulturist who could bridge scientific expertise with community programming — not a generalist with a green thumb.

  • A disability rights organization needed an Executive Director with active lobbying experience and relationships at the state capitol — credentials that simply don't surface in a standard applicant pool.

  • A development team needed someone whose entire career had been built around major gifts cultivation, not annual fund or grant writing — a critical distinction that a resume keyword search will never catch.

In each of these cases, the right candidate existed. They just had to be found — not waited on.

When you post and pray, you get whoever happened to be looking that week. When you source, you get who you actually need.

Most sourcing firms won't touch a search under $80,000 in salary or pick up the phone without a five-figure retainer. We built something different — because the nonprofit workforce doesn't have the luxury of leaving a program manager position vacant for four months while you wait to see who applies.

Our flat-fee sourcing service:

Role Level Investment:

  • Entry-level through Manager $600

  • Director and above$1,200

No retainer. No percentage of salary. No surprises.

You get targeted, direct outreach to qualified candidates. Candidate still apply through your own process. You stay in control of your hiring. You just stop losing people who never knew you were looking.

Compare that to what LinkedIn Recruiter and Indeed Sponsored Jobs charge and the math speaks for itself.

Step 1 — We Learn Your World

Before we source a single candidate, we do our homework. We review your job description, your organization's culture, and your mission — then we go deeper. Together we identify the must-haves: the non-negotiable experience and credentials the role requires. And the nice-to-haves: the backgrounds and perspectives that would make a great hire exceptional.

The details that never make it into a job posting are exactly the details that lead us to the right person.

Step 2 — We Go Find Them

With a clear picture of who you need, we build a targeted candidate list and get to work. We have the latest sourcing technology and contact information for local or national contacts. We make direct, professional outreach; introducing your organization in a way that reflects your values and your brand. We're not blasting inboxes. We're having real conversations with people who match what you're looking for, whether they were actively looking or not.

Step 3 — We Bring You the Right People

Every candidate receives a personal email — no mass sends, no BCC lists, no generic newsletters. If they're a fit, we tell them exactly why they're qualified and invite them to apply directly through your process.

If the timing isn't right for them, we ask who they think we should be talking to. Strong professionals know other strong professionals — and that referral conversation is often where the best candidates come from.

For most roles, we reach out to a minimum of 200 qualified individuals. Not 200 cold names … 200 people we've identified as genuinely relevant to what you're looking for. The result is a candidate pool your job posting never could have built.

Vacancy is expensive. The wrong hire is more expensive.

Every week a role sits open, your team is absorbing the gap. Programs slow down. Staff burn out covering extra responsibilities. Leadership attention gets pulled from strategy into operations.

And if you hire the wrong person because the right one never showed up in your applicant pool? The cost of a failed hire — in time, morale, and the resources spent starting over — far exceeds the investment in finding the right person from the start.

You cannot afford to leave the best candidates undiscovered.

WHO THIS IS FOR

This service is built for nonprofits that:

  • Have a role open now — or know one is coming

  • Have been disappointed by what job boards have delivered

  • Need a specific background, not just a willing applicant

  • Don't have the internal capacity for targeted candidate outreach

  • Want to move efficiently without sacrificing quality

We work across all functional areas: development, programs, operations, HR, communications, finance, and executive leadership.
