The Opportunity

YWAC seeks a creative and organized Marketing Manager who is passionate about storytelling, community engagement, and campaigns that drive measurable impact. The ideal candidate is both imaginative and detail-oriented, able to transform data and experiences into compelling stories that elevate our mission and inspire generosity, adoption, and advocacy.

This role is perfect for a strategic communicator and strong writer who thrives in a collaborative environment, balancing big-picture strategy with hands-on content creation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of strategic marketing and communications plans that advance YWAC’s mission and brand.

  • Design and implement creative campaigns to boost adoption, fundraising, and community engagement.

  • Craft compelling stories and content for press releases, newsletters, social media, and donor communications.

  • Oversee and manage all digital platforms website, email marketing, and social media, with help from staff, to ensure consistent and engaging messaging.

  • Collaborate with the CEO, Development team, and PR partners to align marketing efforts with fundraising goals.

  • Manage media relations, including proactive story pitching, press inquiries, and crisis communication.

  • Plan and promote special events such as Mardi Growl and other fundraising initiatives.

  • Track, analyze, and report on marketing metrics including engagement, reach, and conversion.

  • Represent YWAC at public events, community meetings, and speaking engagements.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional experience in marketing, communications, or public relations (nonprofit or animal welfare experience a plus).

  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills with a portfolio of campaign or content examples.

  • Demonstrated success leading marketing campaigns from concept to completion.

  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and deadlines.

  • Experience with social media management, digital analytics, and brand consistency.

  • Proficiency in graphic design tools (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) and content management systems preferred.

  • Collaborative spirit, curiosity, and a love for creativity and animals.

Salary $55,000-$65,000
